This Privacy Policy describes how the LiteBalance application ("the app", "we") handles information. LiteBalance is a privacy-first personal finance tracker: your financial data is stored locally on your device.
1. What data is processed and where it is stored
The data you enter in the app (transactions, categories, amounts, currencies, notes, subscriptions, etc.) is stored locally on your device in a secure database. We have no access to this data and do not transmit it to our servers — we operate none.
2. Google Sign-In and Google Drive backup (optional)
If you choose to enable cloud backup, the app will ask you to sign in with your Google account. In that case:
- we receive basic profile information (email) needed for authentication;
- backups are stored in your own Google Drive. The app only works with files it creates itself and cannot access the rest of your Drive content;
- Google Drive access is used solely to create and restore backups;
- you can revoke access at any time from your Google account settings.
Backups are encrypted (PBKDF2 with a random salt) before being uploaded.
3. Exchange rates
To convert currencies, the app fetches up-to-date rates from a third-party rates provider. These requests contain none of your personal or financial data.
4. Biometrics and PIN
If you enable app protection, the PIN is stored securely on the device, and biometric verification (fingerprint/face) is performed by your operating system. Biometric data never leaves your device and is not available to us.
5. What we do NOT do
- we do not sell or share your data with third parties;
- we do not display ads;
- we do not use your financial data for profiling or marketing.
6. Data retention and deletion
Because data is stored locally, you are fully in control. Uninstalling the app removes local data from the device. You can delete Google Drive backups from within the app or directly in Google Drive.
7. Children
The app is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
8. Security
We apply technical safeguards (local storage, encrypted backups, optional app-lock). However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL with its last-updated date.
